CHRONICLES OF A PATHOLOGIST

Hello my dear brethren, my humble greeting to one and all.About myself,   hmm.....   I am Dr Viswanathan Periaswamy. I am basically a Clinical Pathologist and work as a professor of pathology in a reputed medical college in chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, India.

My Interests are visiting various temples and researching about them. Also i have a special interest on Chola temples and architecture.
Here is one of my visits and a detailed description about the inscriptions and figurines in the temple.
I dedicate this blog to my Parents - PROF.T.V.PERIASWAMY and MRS.MEENAKSHI _ WHO PROVIDED ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN.

P.RAMALINGAM(TRICHY) adds : -
When Arjuna decided and sat on penance to get
Basupasthira , Sakuni proded Dhuryodhana also to
do the same . But Dhuryodhana could not do and
both decided to disturb Arjuna ; sent a wild boar to
jeopardise the penance . Lord siva and his consort
Parvathi pitied on Arjuna’s endurance , decide to
intervene and shot an arrow at the boar ; and at
that moment Arjuna also did the same . Siva and
Uma came in the attire of a hunter along with pack
    of dogs.
During the fight Arjuna was overpowered and finally
Siva bestows him with Basupasthira .
( Rest of the story is already in the blogspot ).
During the fight Arjuna made fun of Siva as the God
is with attire of an hunter . Arjuna was cursed to be
born as an hunter . In his next birth , born as
Kannappa Nayanar . Arjuna attained Salvation.

    2. Arjuna is in penance, so that's the reason for the long hair...
